Tampa, FL-- A bank teller and his accomplice are in jail today after they confessed to planning and carrying out an "inside job" bank robbery.

According to reports, Bank of America employee Alan Ethington, 21, and his partner in crime, Marcus Halbert, 22, staged a robbery at Ethington's employer.

Halbert, dressed in a hooded sweatshirt and gloves, reportedly went to the bank while Ethington was working and left with a bag of cash.

Ethington claimed Halbert had robbed him at gunpoint in the bank's detached drive thru teller area, though reports indicate he was in on the robbery too.

Police arrived to the scene early enough to catch Halbert as he was running away, thanks to a "suspicious person" call received before the robbery even took place.

Officials say a witness spotted Halbert putting on gloves and a hooded sweatshirt near the bank, and immediately reported it.

When Halbert saw police pull up, he reportedly dropped the bag and attempted to flee, but he was caught and taken into custody.

That's when police say he confessed to planning the robbery with Ethington.

After officials had Ethington in custody, he too admitted to the plan.

They were both charged with Grand Theft and Defrauding a Financial Institution.

Halbert was also in possession of nearly 25 grams of marijuana.
