Winter Haven, FL-- A fifth-grade student from Inwood Elementary was taken to the Polk County Juvenile Assessment Center Monday morning after it was discovered that he brought a butcher knife to school.

Officials say the 11-year-old student had the knife, described as more than eight inches long, in a book binder when officials approached him.

There were reportedly no injuries, and school was not disrupted.
