Tampa, Florida- Tampa Police say a drug deal gone bad lead to a drive by shooting and chase within the parking lot of a police substation by Busch Gardens along 30th Street.
Police say the chase and shooting began when one man refused to pay another for a bag of marijuana.
"Further investigation shows that it was involving a narcotic deal involving marijuana," said Captain Lee Bercaw.
Tampa Police said when 19-year-old Louis Xavier Ruiz-Machado didn't get his money, he shot at 24-year-old Milton Coley.
Machado then reportedly chased Coley in his Dodge Ram pickup truck from 15th street and Bougainvillea.
Coley was in a friend's Nissan Altima.
Bercaw says,"The driver of the Nissan knew where the police department was, and began to drive here to district 2."
Machado either didn't know, or didn't care that the driver of the Nissan had pulled into a police station.
"The truck chased the Altima here, probably not realizing that it was a police station, when the truck fired an additional shot at the Nissan Altima," said Bercaw.
Machado drove away, officers followed and arrested both Machado and Coley in a parking lot at USF.
Police charged Machado with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of marijuana. Police found a 9m gun in the car.
Coley was charged with possession of Marijuana.
