LAKELAND, Florida -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a home invasion suspect.

A man wearing a mask pepper sprayed another man as he was walking out of his home on Alamo Drive in Lakeland on Friday, Dec. 28, according to the sheriff's office. The suspect then grabbed the man and forced him inside. There, police say, the victim and the victim's cousin began to struggle with the suspect.

The fight reportedly continued in the front yard, at which time the suspect walked away from the scene on foot. He was last seen in the area of Dimbath Ave. and West Alamo Drive.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, approximately 5'8" - 5'9", between 25 and 34 years old. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and black sweats with white stripes down the sides. Authorities believe he may have head injuries from being struck by the victims.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Jeannette Leonard at 863.298.6200.
