Melbourne, FL (Florida Today) -- A federal grand jury has charged a Melbourne man who allegedly made threats against President Barack Obama on Facebook.

The indictment says Christopher Castillo "knowingly and willfully" made a threat to kill or harm the president "by writing a post on Facebook stating 'That's the last straw, if he gets re-elected I'm going to hunt him down and kill him watch the life disappear from his eyes.'"

Castillo, 28, was arrested in November and has since been released from custody pending a trial. The investigation began Nov. 1, when a "concerned citizen" reported seeing the threats on Castillo's Facebook page and called U.S. Secret Service, court documents show.

In an interview with investigators at his Melbourne home on Nov. 8, Castillo made further threats to the president, calling Obama a terrorist, according to the documents. Castillo's family told our news partners FLORIDA TODAY after the arrests that the alleged threats were not legitimate.

Castillo is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge Tuesday morning.
