Tampa woman arrested for animal cruelty

TAMPA, Florida -- A woman was charged with felony animal cruelty today after Hillsborough County Animal Services recovered an emaciated dog from her home.

"Bubbles," a 4-year-old Great Dane, weighed less than 54 pounds when she was confiscated, according to the Hillsborough Department of Animal Services. She has since gained 14 pounds and is reportedly on the mend.

Bubbles' owner, 31-year-old Natasha Chamberlain, was taken into custody today whiling working at International Plaza.

Bubbles is not available for adoption yet, but Animal Services says it hopes to make that possible in time for the holidays.
