TAMPA, Florida (AP) - The Florida socialite linked to a scandal involving two military generals also tried to establish a relationship between South Korea and the University of South Florida's medical school.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that Jill Kelley tried to broker medical, pharmaceutical or research exchanges between South Korea and USF. Kelley was honorary consul for South Korea, which is a ceremonial position.
The Times received emails sent from Kelley to USF.
The FBI stumbled onto the extramarital affair of Gen. David Petraeus after tracking anonymous emails allegedly sent to Kelley, warning her to stay away from Petraeus and Gen. John Allen.
In August, Kelly tried to facilitate a no-bid deal with South Korea on a project with a businessman during a meeting at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
