Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Fire Rescue had a very special guest Thursday morning at a South Tampa fire station when President Obama stopped in for a surprise visit.

Around 7 a.m. during a shift change, President Obama showed up at Fire Station 14 with three dozen donuts he had just picked up at a nearby Krispy Kreme donuts.

The President thanked rescue fighters for their service, talked with firefighters and shot some hoops out back. He also took time for photos before heading out to a rally in Centennial Park.

Tampa Fire Rescue says the firefighters were delighted to have such a high profile guest stop by and pay a visit and welcome him back anytime.
