Suspect targets multiple fast food restaurant chains

Tampa, FL-- Hillsborough County detectives currently investigate a series of armed robberies that recently occurred at multiple Bay area fast food restaurants.

According to reports, the suspect used a brick to shatter windows in each of the restaurants to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect demanded money from employees, who were still on duty despite the restaurants being closed.

Once given the cash, the suspect reportedly fled each time.

Detectives say three incidents occurred in Hillsborough, but an investigation is underway in Largo and the City of Tampa for two other possibly related incidents.

The restaurant locations are as follows:

  • Sep. 23: Papa John's Pizza - 7891 Gunn Highway, Tampa
  • Sep. 25: Pizza Hut - 4535 East Bay Drive, Clearwater
  • Oct. 7: Pizza Hut - 902 Busch Blvd. West, Tampa
  • Oct. 14: Wendy's Restaurant - 13712 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. 
  • Oct. 16: Pizza Hut - 17420 Highway 41 North, Lutz
Officials describe the wanted suspect as a black male between the ages of 22 - 35. They say he is between 150 - 180 pounds, and stands between 5'5" - 5'11". He was last seen wearing a black ski mask and black long sleeve sweatshirt.

Authorities encourage anyone with any information reference the suspect to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.
