Spring Hill, FL-- Hernando County deputies arrested a man with outstanding arrest warrants for his possession of, and conspiracy to sell, Methamphetamine last Friday. Once he was in custody, a search of his belongings revealed his, and others' involvement in much more.

According to reports, deputies approached the suspect, 32-year-old John Spooner, and the woman with him, 26-year-old Brandi Maley, when they were checking out of a hotel room and loading his car at a Hampton Inn in Spring Hill.

The deputies placed him under arrest for the outstanding warrants, and then conducted a search of his car, and the bags he was loading into it. They found Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, Hydromorphone, two loaded handguns, $9,922 in cash, and various items of drug paraphernalia, reports say.

Officials searched Maley as well, and arrested her for possessing narcotics as well.

The search did not stop there. Officials then reportedly went to Spooner's apartment off of Broad St. in Masaryktown, and found more Meth and drug paraphernalia, four handguns, two short-barreled shotguns, one rifle, and a bulletproof vest.

Another accomplice to Spooner's operation, 22-year-old Patricia Manley, was at the apartment, and was also placed under arrest for possession of Meth.

"This individual [John Spooner] was deeply involved in the lifestyle that accompanies drug dealing.  This lifestyle often leads dealers to use, or be in fear of, violence.  Mr. Spooner was a perfect example," said Sheriff Al Nienhuis. "My detectives knew that Mr. Spooner was very well armed and that it was only a matter of time before someone was going to be injured.  I must give my Vice and Narcotics Unit a lot of credit.  Although they waited until a suitable and safe time to take Mr. Spooner into custody, they were still able to take this thug off the streets before any innocent people were injured by this well-armed criminal."
