Tampa, Florida -- The rush is on to get people registered to vote with the deadline for voter registration coming on Tuesday.

"All registrations must either be post marked by tomorrow which is October 9 or received in our offices... and hours are extended until 7 p.m. on Tuesday," said Travis Abercrombie with the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office.

As the deadline approaches a new survey is also out by the Pew Research Center that finds only 50 percent of adults under the age of 30 are absolutely certain they're registered to vote in this November's election.

In addition the survey found the number of young adults who say they're interested in the campaign and likely to cast a vote is also down; only 61 percent compared to 75 percent in September of 2008.

Finally the survey found that only one in four under the age of 40 is following campaign news very closely.

Early voting begins on Oct. 27.
