Fort Myers, Florida (News-Press) -- Lee County deputies have arrested a man as he tried to bring crystal meth into the county from St. Petersburg.
A detective stopped Jeffery Patrick Limon, 48, of St. Petersburg, just before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on I-75 at mile marker 143, according to a sheriff's office release. Limon was pulled over for failure to maintain a lane and unlawful speed, according to the release.
Limon told the detective he was driving from St. Petersburg to Fort Myers to help a friend with some home maintenance.
Through a K-9 search, the detective found 12 grams of crystal meth worth $3,300. It was in the glove box inside a prescription pill bottle labeled with Limon's name.
Upon further investigation, the sheriff's office uncovered Limon was traveling to the North Fort Myers area to deliver the crystal meth to some friends.
The 2003 Jaguar he was driving has been seized.
Limon faces a charge of possession with intent to sell/manufacture/deliver crystal meth, according to the release.
