Forecast: Isolated Showers Overnight; PM Storms Thursday

Our wet pattern starts to change on Thursday as high pressure begins to build in and the front lifts northwest.  Some locations, such as Sarasota, received more than two inches of rain on Wednesday.  On Thursday, we will start to see a little more sunshine throughout the day, with the morning hours being mainly dry.  However,  by the afternoon, a 60% chance of rain returns to the area with a high temperature of 90 degrees.

 

Overnight  Isolated showers, mostly cloudy, with a low around 74, and light west winds.  Chance of precipitation is 60%. 

Thursday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 100. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Sunday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Columbus Day Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
