BRADENTON, Florida -- On the heels of the 10 News investigation that revealed KB Home may have known about structural defects at the troubled Willowbrook Townhomes, State Senator Mike Bennett is calling on Attorney General Pam Bondi to launch an investigation.
Bennett, R-Bradenton, sent a letter to Bondi's office suggesting if the whistleblower's accusations were true, KB Home committed fraud.
Contacted Tuesday, the Attorney General's office once again referred 10 News to the Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR), which is currently investigating the crumbling condos.
But the DBPR cannot confirm any details of its investigation without finding probable cause, which can take months or even years.
10 News will continue to investigate the story and report updates on WTSP-TV and WTSP.com.
