Suspects rob La Quinta Inn, clerk held at gunpoint

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough deputies currently search for two suspects who reportedly robbed a La Quinta Inn this past Sunday. 

It was approximately 10:46 p.m., when officials say two unknown, black males entered the La Quinta Inn off of US Hwy 301 North armed with a shotgun.  

One suspect jumped the counter, demanded money from the clerk and removed an undisclosed amount from the cash register as the other stood watch with a shotgun pointed at the clerk, reports say.

Both suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means.

Officials have described the suspects as follows:

Suspect 1:  

  • Black Male
  • 20-30 years
  • 5'10"-6'2"
  • 180 lbs.
  • Thin/Medium build
  • Last seen wearing black bandana over face, a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front and black shorts.
  • Weapon: Pump shotgun, black with brown stock

Suspect 2:  

  • Black Male
  • 20-30 years
  • 5'10"-6'2"
  • 180 lbs.
  • Thin/Medium build
  • Last seen wearing a black shirt covering his face, a white long sleeve sweater, white socks for gloves, black shorts, black socks and black shoes.

Deputies encourage anyone with any information regarding the suspects to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.
