Tampa Bay Weather Forecast: Rain, windy

Rain chances and winds will increase through Sunday as a weak area of low pressure in the Gulf moves east across the Florida peninsula. A cold front will then push through the sunshine state late Sunday into Monday.  This front will usher in drier, less humid air.

Sunday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 98. Southwest wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. West wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. East northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph.
