The makers of Splenda Essentials are coming under fire for claiming that the artificial sweetener with added fiber, antioxidants, or vitamins "makes everything you sweeten a little better for you."

A consumer advocacy group, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, said there is nothing about Splenda Essentials that makes it a magic health food as implied.

The group also pointed to photos of antioxidant rich fruits on the label, but said it actually contains synthetic vitamins and is nothing more than a fortified artificial sweetener.
