Mulberry, Florida -- A man faces numerous counts of lewd battery on a minor after a girl who went missing from South Carolina was found at his home in Mulberry.
24-year-old Pablo Garcia-Sanchez told Polk County detectives he met the 15-year-old girl on Facebook about three months ago. When her mother found out, she told her daughter to stay away from Sanchez. That's when he drove up to North Carolina and told her, "I don't care what your mom says, I love you".
He then drove her to his home in Mulberry where he says they proceeded to have a sexual relationship which resulted in her alleged pregnancy.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office was made aware of her whereabouts from North Carolina detectives and found her and Sanchez at his home on Aug. 14. In interviews with detectives, both Sanchez and the girl admitted to the relationship and her pregnancy.
Sanchez was arrested and charged with 50 counts Lewd Battery On A Minor Under 16 Years of Age, one count Interference With Child Custody, and one count Sheltering An Unmarried Minor. The girl was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center until she is taken back to North Carolina.
