Reward increased for info leading to suspect's arrest and conviction in connection with Fredrick Edwards' death

Bradenton, Florida -- The Bradenton Police Department has announced an increase in the reward amount for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the death of a 17-year-old boy.

On July 14, police say Fredrick L. Edwards was shot in the head and driven to the hospital by someone who dropped him off and then fled. Edwards died at the hospital and while investigators had a person of interest in the case, they have since said that person was cleared.

The Gold Star Club of Manatee County, Inc. has committed to adding up to an additional $5,000 to a previous Crime Stoppers of Manatee County reward of $1,000. 

Detectives are still actively investigating the case and hopes additional reward money will help encourage someone to come forward.

Anyone having information with regards to this incident is asked to call Bradenton Police Department Detective Greg Price at 941-224-4265, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers (toll free) at 1-866-634-8477 (TIPS) to become eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. You may also send an anonymous tip through the web at . Anonymous TEXT TIPS may be sent by sending "MCSTIPS plus your message" to 274637 (CRIMES). Upon conviction the tipster may be eligible for an additional reward of up to $5,000 from the Gold Star Club.
