A Tornado Watch covering the Bay area has been extended to 11 p.m.

Bay area counties still under the tornado watch include Citrus, Desoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Levy, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk Sarasota and Sumter.

10 News meteorologist Mark Collins says tornadoes will be just as numerous today as they were on Sunday.

If you are in the path of a tornado, go to a small interior room in a strong, well-constructed building. Cars and mobile homes are not safe.

If no shelter is available, lie flat in a ditch or culvert and cover your head with your hands.
