St. Petersburg, Florida -- Police say a woman was rushed to the hospital after she was shot multiple times by her husband Tuesday afternoon.
St. Pete PD received a call shortly after 2:30 stating a woman had been shot by her husband and was lying in her front yard. The husband was seen outside with a gun in his hand.
Moments later police got a call from the husband, 72-year-old William Bolling, who said he had shot his wife and needed emergency personnel to respond to the scene.
The victim, identified as 64-year-old Vicki Bolling, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center as a trauma alert. She reportedly is undergoing surgery, and her current condition is unknown.
Investigators say based on preliminary information, the Bollings were arguing inside their 74th Circle N home when William produced a handgun and fired at least one round inside the house.
It appears Vicki ran out onto the back porch, while her husband opened fire from inside the house through an open window, striking her in the lower body several times.
Vicki fled to the side of the house, where she collapsed. Her husband approached her with gun in hand, but reportedly then went back inside to call 911.
Police say the husband is in custody and will be charged with attempted murder.
