SPRING, Texas (AP) - Authorities say they've found a newborn who was abducted from his dying mother after she was repeatedly shot outside a doctor's office in suburban Houston.
Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon says authorities found the 3-day-old infant safe Tuesday night. He says the father is on his way to be reunited with his son.
Authorities say the baby's mother, 28-year-old Kala Marie Golden, was leaving a checkup with her son Tuesday afternoon when she had a verbal altercation with a woman in a parked Lexus.
Sheriff's Lt. Dan Norris says witnesses reported that the woman repeatedly shot Golden, snatched the baby and sped off, hitting Golden as she screamed and tried to reach into the Lexus.
The shooting happened outside a pediatric center in Spring, north of Houston.
