Crime scene at the Windemere Apartments in Dunedin
Dunedin, Florida -- Investigators say a double shooting inside an apartment at the back of the Windemere Apartments on Main St. in Dunedin appears to be an attempted murder-suicide.
William Foster, 42, came home after a meeting just before 10:40 Thursday night, a Sheriff's spokeswoman said.
He found his wife Tina Marie Foster and his step-daughter, 10-year-old Kassidie McMillin, shot inside the apartment.
Tina Foster was dead, minutes before her 40th birthday.
Her daughter has managed to hang on. She was taken to a Bay area hospital and is still alive, but suffering life threatening injuries, spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda said.
Video shown on The Morning Show on 10 News shows the daughter being loaded into a helicopter for a rapid flight to a nearby trauma center.
Detectives are questioning several people, including the husband, Barreda said.
Investigators say it appears Tina Foster is responsible for both shootings. They are awaiting confirmation from the Medical Examiner's report.
A large caliber handgun was recovered at the scene.
The apartment complex is located on Main St. in Dunedin between Keene Rd. and Belcher Rd. Crime scene investigators continued to catalog evidence inside the unit in Building O hours later, well into Friday morning.
