Clearwater, FL -- Later this year, a state of the art breast cancer center will open its doors. Construction is underway on the Axelrod Pavilion at Morton Plant Mease, named for the donor Shirley Axelrod and her husband, Harvey.
The four-story building with more than 103,000 square feet will be the new home for the Susan Cheek Needler Breast Center.
The Axelrod Pavilion will have a full range of imaging exams, an oncology resource library, and be the home to cancer support services with counselors and support groups.
The Comprehensive Breast Care Center of Tampa Bay will also move into the new building. Construction on the new facility began back in March 2010.
