TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The final day for early voting in the state's primary elections has arrived.

Saturday is the last day registered voters can cast an early ballot in the state's primary for U.S. and Florida House and Senate elections, in addition to county races.

Only residents registered with a political party can vote in their party's primary.

Initial data for several Florida counties indicates voter turnout has been low. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports just over 10,000 people voted in the first six days of early voting at Broward County's 17 early voting sites. The county has 1.1 million registered voters.

The primary will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
