St. Petersburg, Florida -- Rep. Kathleen Peters is considering running for the congressional seat vacated by C.W. Bill Young following his death last month.
Peters tells 10 News that her staff is making calls and exploring a run at the seat.
"When you get as many calls as I have (about Young's seat), I have to start on making calls and seeing if this is something that that would work," she says.
Right now, former Florida CEO and Democrat Alex Sink and former Bill Young aide David Jolly are considered favorites in the race.
The primary is scheduled for January 14, with the general election on March 11.
