St. Petersburg, Florida -- There were several elections around the Bay area Tuesday, including mayor races in the cities of St. Petersburg and Lakeland.

In Florida's fourth largest city, incumbent St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster lost his re-election bid to challenger Rick Kriseman

Over in Clearwater, voters have approved a new state of the art $160 million facility for Winter the Dolphin. The city will also get a much needed new City Hall building to replace the old one near the corner of Pierce and Osceola Street.

Over in Polk County, voters decided a new mayor is needed in Lakeland, choosing city commissioner Howard Wiggs over incumbent Gow Fields.  Fields' defeat comes as the city continues to be embroiled in a series of police department sex scandals.
