Tampa, Florida -- The University of South Florida's Student Senate is rounding up classmates to tape video messages denouncing tuition hikes.

The Student Senate say, for the first time, students are paying more for their education than the state subsidizes for its public universities. Some students feel they have had enough.

On Tuesday Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the University of South Florida's Student Senate will hold a student engagement event in which they will be mobilizing the student body against future tuition hikes brought on by the Florida Legislature.

Students will have the opportunity to film a short video message to their legislators and let them know why they can't take anymore. In addition, the students are mobilizing to form a rapid response team to legislative issues which affect the student body.

Anyone interest in telling their story to the legislators or gauging the students' opinions on tuition hikes is encouraged to attend. The event will be held next to the College of Education building on the USF Tampa Campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 1, 2013.
