Tallahassee, Florida - Floridians like Democrat Hillary Clinton for president over Florida's favorite Republican sons Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, according to a new poll.

Clinton would defeat Bush by seven points, 50 - 43 percent, if the election were held today, according to the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

And the survey finds she would beat Rubio 53 - 41 percent.

However, Floridians like Rubio overall. Fifty-one percent approve of his job performance even though they disagree with him on two big issues.

Florida voters disapprove 41 - 33 percent of the way he's handling the immigration issue and they overwhelmingly disagree with him, 49 - 10 percent, on his vote against expanded gun background checks.

Poll spokesman Peter Brown says it's unusual for a politician to remain well liked even after disagreeing with voters on key issues like immigration and guns.

"It's the mark of an able politician who is able to differ with the electorate on some key issues and still maintain his overall positive rating with voters. It's a political talent."

Both Rubio and Bush fare better among Florida voters in a hypothetical matchup for president with Vice President Joe Biden.

While neither Bush nor Rubio has announced a run for president, the poll shows Bush would defeat Biden 47 - 43 percent and Rubio would narrowly win 45 - 43 percent.
