MIAMI (AP) - A bomb squad will blow up a cooler found outside of an early voting site in Orange County.
The cooler was found outside the Winter Park library Saturday morning, one of ten early voting locations in the county. Authorities say the cooler will be detonated as a precaution.
The discovery prompted officials to evacuate the building, suspending early voting at the site. Long lines have been reported across the state, including a six-hour wait time at one early voting site in Miami-Dade County.
U.S. Senator Bill Nelson has asked Florida Gov. Rick Scott to issue an emergency order extending early voting hours at least through Sunday. The governor has not yet responded and rejected earlier calls for an extension.
Election officials say 3.9 million votes have been cast in Florida.
