Tampa, Florida -- After 103 years on this earth, all Carrie Williams wanted for her birthday was to get the opportunity to shake President Obama's hand. On the President's recent trip to Tampa, Carrie got her wish.

It all happened because her nephew Willie Lovejoy approached Rep. Betty Reed, who attends his church, and invited her to his aunt's birthday party. While Reed was there, she asked Carrie if there was anything she wanted for her birthday. Carrie told her she wanted to shake President Obama's hand.

Rep. Reed helped make her wish come true during the President's visit last week in Tampa. Carrie was up front along the fence as the President walked around and shook hands. When he got to Carrie he grabbed her hand and, with a smile from ear-to-ear, kissed her cheek.

Carrie moved to Tampa a year ago from Los Angeles and recently registered to vote in just enough time to vote in this year's election. The first time Carrie voted was in 1924 for Calvin Coolidge. She cast her vote today, Oct. 31 at the C. Blythe Andrews Library.
