Tampa, Florida -- While on the campaign trail in 2010 for Florida Attorney General, Pam Bondi told supporters, "We can change the face of politics."

And now Bondi herself appears to be the face of politics.

For months now, she's been stumping for Mitt Romney and tonight Bondi bounds onto the national stage with a prime-time speech.

"This could be a big moment for her, if she has ambitions beyond Attorney General and perhaps she does," said Seth McKee, 10 News political consultant.

McKee says Bondi's inclusion in the speakers' line-up is not surprising.  She's young, telegenic, and this year her party profile soared with her tough talk against Obamacare.  And once again during tonight's speech, Bondi is expected to criticize the Affordable Care Act.

Before being elected Attorney General in 2010, Bondi worked for the Hillsborough State Attorney's Office for 18 years. She prosecuted cases and served as spokesperson.

However, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Bondi was dogged by some controversy involving a dispute over the ownership of a St. Bernard she had adopted.

For much of her adult life, Bondi was also a registered Democrat. But her year 2000 party switch proved beneficial a decade later, as she won her very first election. Bondi became the state's first woman Attorney General.

Bondi has not spoken publicly about her future plans, but Thursday's speech could help pave the way for a possible bid for a U.S. Senate seat or a run for Governor.

"It can definitely be a launching pad for her," McKee says.
