Clearwater, Florida - Our Pet of the Week is Jayda. She's a 20 month old Shepherd Mix. This poor little gal has had a very active young life so far. In February Jayda had been hit by a car and suffered from a fractured pelvis and a dislocated spine. At that time, her owner surrendered her through her veterinarian, presumable due to the incurring medical expenses. In time, Jayda has recovered from these injuries and has since been given to us to find her a new forever home.

During her recovery, she shared a home with other animals and is said to enjoy chasing the cats and playing with smaller dogs. She is crate trained and never had an accident in the house. Jayda knows her basic commands, loves people and is a very active girl that enjoys walks on the leash and to run in the yard. She deserves her own 2nd chance success story, meet her today!

Pet of the Week: Lucy

Lucy is a cute medium sized 10 year old domestic short haired cat. She is an orange cat with tiger like markings on her. She has a plushy coat and has black markings on her nose and lips that make it look like she got into some chocolate pudding. She is a very affectionate cat who is an active participant in whatever petting you have to offer. She will push on your hand and roll over so that you can rub her tummy. Once you start she gets really into it and it is hard to stop.

Lucy was turned into the shelter because her previous owners could no longer afford to keep her. She gets along well with the other cats that she shares her condo with. It is unknown whether she gets along with dogs so if you have any already in your family please bring them with you to meet her. We do recommend that since she is an older girl that she goes to a new forever home that has older children in it.
