Clearwater, Florida - Our Pet of the Week is Honey.  Honey is a  big sweetheart that started life in an unimaginable way. As a puppy she outgrew the rope that was tied around her neck. As she grew the rope became imbedded in her neck and infected. Full of infection, terrified and truly on the edge of life, she was saved by an amazing community pulling together with one common goal.

Honey earned her name the 1st day at the Humane Society of Pinellas. That was New Years' Eve.  She has now healed and been given the clearance to go live a dogs' life the way it should be! Honey is learning her basic commands, improving on leash walking and likes to play with other dogs. It is great to watch her learn what toys are all about and get excited like a little puppy. She is ready to shed her unconditional love on some lucky family-is it going to be yours?

Pet of the Week: Smokey

Smokey is a large sized domestic short haired cat. He is what is called a Russian Blue mix. Those are reputed to be among the best behaved house cats by their fanciers and we believe he will fit that stereotype. His fur is gorgeous, grey/silver and shiny. His eyes are bright yellow. He is 9 years old and very gentle. He is de-clawed. He is on a special diet to maintain proper kidney function, but he is doing very well on that diet.

Smokey was turned in by his previous owners because they did not have the time for him. He can go to his new forever home with children of any age due to his gentle nature. He gets along with most other cats. We are unsure if he gets along with dogs so if you have one please bring them with you to meet our Smokey and see if he is the right match for your family.
