Clearwater, Florida - Our pet of the week is Sampson.  Appropriately named, Sampson is a big strong American Bulldog Mix that is almost 9 years old. He is a sweet boy that loves to be outside in the yard playing tug 'o war, it is his favorite game. His previous owner describes Sampson as happy and energetic. He gets along with female dogs, especially if they enjoy the same games and also like cats, but can play a bit too rough.

Sampson does know his basic commands and is a very alert fellow that likes to keep guard of his home and family. He will let you know if a stranger is near by barking until you tell him that everything is "ok". He has spent time around children, but because he is such a strong dog, teenagers make better playmates for Sampson.

Pet of the Week: Miss Sylvia

Miss Sylvia is a sweet and affectionate 3 year old DSH. Her coat is a very soft tortoiseshell pattern. Miss Sylvia will be the first to greet you in the morning with her soft little meow. She loves to be pet, have her chin scratched, and human interaction. She did spend some time with older children in her previous home and also gets along with other cats.

She is a SPIN (Special Pet in Need) kitty because she is a diabetic. Fortunately at this time, on a strict diet to control her blood sugar is all that she needs. She will need to have an established relationship with her new veterinarian to ensure she remains in good health. This is an exceptionally nice, friendly young girl who is hoping to find a home where she can play and reward her new caregiver with lots and lots of love.
