DALY CITY, Calif. (AP) – It may have been the loudest funeral procession ever.
About 2,000 Hells Angeles attended the funeral of slain Hells Angel leader Mark "Papa" Guardado today in Daly City, California.
They came from chapters all over the country. There were also members from Germany, Canada and Australia.
An overflow crowd of hundreds of members sat or stood in the funeral home parking lot for two hours. The biker procession stopped traffic in its tracks on both sides of the Bay Area's Interstate 280.
Police from three cities, San Francisco, Daly City and Colma, showed up. But there were no incidents aside from minor accidents between motorcycles.
Guardado was shot dead earlier this month outside a bar in San Francisco. Police are looking for a member of the rival Mongols Motorcycle Club.
