NEW YORK (AP) — Would you believe dieters are a major cause of New York subway delays? That's the word from the transit medics who respond to calls in New York City subways.
Treating ill passengers is among the main reasons for subway service disruptions. Emergency medical technician Asim Nelson tells the newspaper A-M New York that fainting dieters top their sick passenger list.
Nelson says if you don't eat for three or four days, you're going to go down. He says 12 hours without eating will leave a commuter weak.
