Nashville, Tenn. (The Tennessean) -- A Nashville Zoo employee was fired after she was involved in a drunken incident while driving the park's trackless train Thursday, zoo officials said.

In a statement, the zoo confirmed an unnamed guest services staff member was operating a train while under the influence of alcohol. Officials from the zoo quickly relieved her and got the situation under control, the statement said.

The woman was terminated from her position soon afterward. No one was hurt during the incident.

"Nashville Zoo strives to be a safe venue for families, and we deeply regret the incident occurred and will take all necessary steps to ensure this is an isolated incident," the statement said.
