TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) -- A new poll shows Republican Marco Rubio's lead shrinking in his bid for an open U.S. Senate seat in Florida.

Meanwhile, Democrat Alex Sink clings to a slight advantage over Republican Rick Scott in the state's heated gubernatorial battle.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday has Rubio with 42 percent to Gov. Charlie Crist's 35 percent and Democrat Kendrick Meek's 15 percent in their three-way contest. Crist is running as an independent. Rubio led Crist by a 44 to 30 percent margin two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Sink received 45 percent to Scott's 41 percent with 11 percent undecided. Nine percent say they might change their minds.

Quinnipiac surveyed 784 likely voters between Oct. 18 and 24. The poll has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
