Treasure Island, Florida -- Ray Grimes says he's "disgusted" that Rev. Terry Jones, the Gainesville pastor threatening to burn 200 copies of the Quran, owns a condo across the hall from him in a building along the Treasure Island Causeway.

Property records list the minister and his wife Sylvia as the owners of a unit in Paradise Island Towers, an 11-story beige and brown building on Paradise Blvd.

It's not clear whether the Jones family has ever lived in the unit or stayed there. No one came to the door or answered a call to a "T. Jones" listed on the building's call box on Friday.

A next-door neighbor who declined to give her name says the condo is empty most of the time, but is sporadically rented out to short-term visitors.

At least one of the visitors was from Germany, the neighbor said. A church Jones founded in Cologne, Germany in the 1980's kicked him out as its pastor in 2008.

The neighbor said she had seen Pastor Terry Jones' face on TV, and that she had never seen him before at the condo during the three years she's lived next door.

Jones' plan to burn the Muslim holy book upset the neighbor, she said, because her daughter married a Muslim man and the couple is expecting a baby in the coming months.

A neighbor across the hall, Ray Grimes, was shocked and visibly angry when he learned that Jones owned a unit close to him.

Grimes called the pastor's intentions "obscene" and said Jones gives Christians everywhere a bad name.

"I hope he sells" the condo, Grimes said.

The condo was apparently bought by Jones in 1991, according to records the Pinellas County Property Appraiser's Office. The sale price is listed as $73,500.

Along with Terry Jones, Mary L. Jones is listed as purchasing the property. The Gainesville Sun has reported that Jones married his current wife Sylvia after his first wife, Mary, passed away.

The ownership transferred to Terry Jones and Sylvia Jones in 1999 with a token purchase price listed at $100.

The current market value of the 1,025 square foot condo is listed by the Property Appraiser's Office as $124,152. The mailing address for the couple in that record is in Gainesville, Florida and in care of "DOVE WORLD OUTREACH CTR."
