Dozier School for Boys graves
St. Petersburg, FL - University of South Florida researchers located 55 bodies at the now-closed Dozier School for Boys at the end of January this year. That's 24 more than official records indicate.

A team of more than 50 people from nine different agencies are now attempting to identify the remains, as well as determine the cause of death. USF Associate Prof. Dr. Erin Kimmerle says they'll use bone and tooth samples to try to identify the bodies.
According to the Tampa Tribune, efforts to compensate victims of the alleged abuse have been shot down, and officials aren't eager to address the possibility of reopening a criminal case surrounding the treatment of the boys.
