Customers line up outside of Ellenton Premium outlets in Sarasota on Thanksgiving.
Tampa, Florida-- Black Friday means big time shopping, and this year, the purchasing popped off earlier than ever!
Kmart stores started off at 6:00 Thursday morning. That's right- Thursday, the day before Black Friday.
Toys-R-Us over in Wesley Chapel also held door-buster, "Black Friday" deals on Thursday. Customers made a mad dash for discounted toys when doors opened at 5:00 p.m.
Don't worry if you weren't there, Toys-R-Us is slashing the prices of its clearance items by 80 percent through Saturday.
Toys weren't the only hot commodity Thursday evening; shoppers were also eager for electronics. They stood outside the Best Buy in Brandon waiting for its 6 o'clock opening, then raced through the doors to find the best deals.
The hot item was a 39-inch HD-TV for just $169. People were literally piling them into carts- some three at a time!
Ellenton, Sears, Macy's, Kohl's, and JC Penny also opened their doors Thursday night- all at 8p.m.
While many got an early start, the big Black Friday tradition will still take place tomorrow. If you plan on hitting these hot spots, or others in and around the Tampa Bay area, you'll want to prep with this Black Friday Shopper's Survival Guide!
