Evergreen, Colorado (9NEWS)- Greg Chase from Evergreen sent in this phenomenal video to our partners in Denver of an elk who got trapped in their family trampoline.
"We were just sitting down for our morning coffee when I watched this young cow elk poking [her] head into the entrance of the trampoline," Chase said. "When all of a sudden, [she] decides to jump in for some fun! Getting out proves to be a bit harder than getting in!!!"
The elk gathered around the trampoline, seeming to try and guide the trapped elk out of the trampoline.
At one point, Chase's wife jokingly suggests shooting it. Chase said the only reason she suggested that was to "keep it from suffering if it got too badly hurt due to the hole in the tramp. We recently watched in horror as a fox was strangled to death in our neighbor's soccer goal netting."
"At the very end, I coaxed it out," Chase said. "I walked out there, and I was going to open the opening, and he came out towards me."
Chase said they have seen elk do some crazy things in Evergreen, but never something like this.
"It had lots of fun," Chase said. "It was good. And it all worked out at the end. And you could tell, if you watched the end of the video, they're all excited. It's like two little kids having fun."
