TAMPA, Florida -- A Brandon High School basketball player has died after collapsing during conditioning drills on Friday, Sept. 20.
Milo Meeks, 18, was a senior who transferred to Brandon this year after three years at Armwood High School in Seffner, according to TBO.com.

"We're not 100 percent sure, but he collapsed at practice and he was not responsive," said Ben Bromley, an assistant varsity and junior varsity basketball coach at Armwood who knew Meeks. "He was on a ventilator, his heart shut down, his lungs shut down and his fever spiked."
Meeks is not the first high school player to collapse during drills in Hillsborough County. In 2009, a Wharton High School player, Drake Williams, collapsed and was resuscitated by paramedics who happened to be attending a fundraiser football game at the time.
