Tampa, Florida -- It's been more than 24 hours since a trail carrying thousands of gallons of ethanol derailed. It will take several more hours to get the train cars back on track.

Crews are actively working to clean up the scene using special equipment brought in from Georgia and Tennessee. As of noon Friday, all but two of the derailed cars were removed. The last two cars are expected to be re-railed and moved to another location by the end of the night.

The accident happened early Thursday morning when nearly a dozen train cars derailed. Three of those cars were carrying tanks filled with a combined 4,500 gallons of ethanol.

The 81-car train was coming in from Chicago and only going about three to five miles per hour when it went off the track.

Investigators are looking into what caused the derailment.
