Hollywood, Florida (CNN) -- An alligator handler is recovering after he was bitten over the weekend.
The attack happened at Florida Gator Park in The Native Village, as 22-year-old Will Nace was doing a demonstration known as a "lunge alligator" in front of about 20 people. The handler says the 13-foot, 900-pound gator took him by surprise, clamping down on his arm.
"He actually ended up lunging at me before I got to his nose," Nace says. "So my hand happened to be right in front of his face. [He] lunged up, basically grabbed my hand, bent it backwards and bit down."
His right arm was broken in two places. Another handler jumped in to save Nace.
