Tampa Bay, Florida -- Looking for a great way to spend Independence Day this year?

Here's a list of events happening around the Bay area:


- Inverness Fourth of July Celebration: The patriotic evening that draws folks from as far away as Spring Hill will take place, Wednesday night, July 3. The event will feature live music by the Velvet Jones Band and This Day's Age, food, wine/beer garden, games and will close with Citrus County's best fireworks display.

-Channelside Bay PlazaCelebrate "the biggest and best 4th of July celebrations in Tampa at the Channelside Bay Plaza."

  • Time: 7 p.m. 3,500 wristbands will be distributed for access to the wharf to view the fireworks and live music and entertainment will kick off at 9 p.m.

-"Have a Blast" in Brandon: "Have a Blast" celebrating Independence Day at Westfield Brandon Towncenter with an evening of live music, family fun, great food and fireworks!

  • Time: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

- 4th of July Celebration at Plant City Stadium: The family-oriented day of events features face painting, corn hole, tug-o-war, volleyball, inflatables and live music from the Double Barrel Band and Highway 41 South. A 20-minute fireworks display will end the celebration.

-City of Sebring Fireworks: Fireworks show over Lake Jackson

  • Time: July 5, 9 p.m.

  • Location: Anywhere within plain view of Lake Jackson!

-Highlands Little Theatre's Patriotic Revue: The Theater continues its annual tradition of awarding scholarships to students of all ages while cooking for and entertaining the public. Hot dogs, brats, chili, sodas, cold beer & more will be on sale to benefit the scholarship fund.

  • Time: Every hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

-Bradenton Pier 22 Fourth of July CelebrationDine directly under the fireworks with live music, a pig roast, carved prime rib, sushi, peel and eat shrimp, raw oysters and barbecue chicken. 

  • Time: 6 p.m. to close.
  • Admission: $49.95, $14.95 11-and-younger. Reservation required.
  • Location: Pier 22 Restaurant, 1200 First Ave. W, Bradenton.


-Downtown St. Petersburg Annual Fireworks DisplayThe city of St. Petersburg will celebrate the July 4th holiday with its annual fireworks at the waterfront parks. Weather conditions may bump up, or delay the start time.

  • Time: As early as 8:30 p.m. or as late as 10 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE
  • Location: All along the waterfront with prime viewing from Vinoy, Albert Whitted, and North Straub Parks- near 615 Second Ave. N. St. Petersburg FL

Bright House Clearwater Celebrates AmericaThis event will feature games, performers, a mascot parade, a performance by the Mostly Pops Orchestra featuring the Wilson's and more! A fireworks display takes place after dark.

  • Time: Gates open 4 p.m., Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE

- Hometown USA at Dunedin Stadium: Cheer on the Dunedin Blue Jays as they Clearwater Threshers in a FREE game with a postgame concert by the Greg Billings Band and a fireworks show after the game.

  • Time: Game starts at 4:15 p.m.; Fireworks begin after the game
  • Admission: FREE

- Safety Harbor 4th of July Celebration: Safety Harbor City Marina will have a day of children's activities, live entertainment, food vendors and fireworks.

  • Time: 5-9 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE
  • Location: Safety Harbor City Marina, 110 Veterans Memorial Lane, Safety Harbor, FL

Treasure Island- It's a Freedom ThingTreasure Island presents arts, crafts, food and drink vendors, entertainment and activities for kids too. Live music from "Horses Wild" begins at 5 p.m. Fireworks should begin at 9 p.m.

  • Time: Noon to 9 p.m.

-Largo Fourth of July CelebrationEnjoy a DJ, activities and food followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.

  • Time: 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE. Limited parking is $5

- Gulfport's Fourth of July Celebration: The day starts early with a kids fishing derby at the sea wall next to the rec center at 8 a.m. A Sand Sculpting Contest begins at 11:30 a.m. and the annual auto show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The craft area opens at 4 p.m. and live music begins at 5 p.m.

  • Time: Parade at Beach Blvd. 6 p.m.; Fireworks at 9 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE
  • Location: Beach Boulevard, Gulfport


-"Thunder on the Ridge!": "Polk County's Largest Fireworks Display with a concert featuring Joe Nichols," plus arts & crafts, food vendors and children's activities!

  • Time: Fun kicks off at noon, fireworks expected at 9:30 p.m.

-LEGOLAND'S "Red Brick & Boom": Fun for the whole family from morning 'til night with games, meet and greet opportunities, a party with a DJ and fireworks at LEGOLAND Florida.

  • Time: The fun starts at 10 a.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m.

-Bartow's 4th of July Mass Celebration: A fun day with a patriotic concert, an entire "extravaganza" and finally, fireworks! 

  • Time: 2:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.

- Dade City Sparklebration Star-Spangled Spectacular: Featuring live music, a food court, watermelon eating and seed spitting contests, a hot dog eating contest, sky dive drop-in, petting zoo, bounce houses, pony rides, face painting and a fireworks finale. (No coolers, alcohol, pets or personal fireworks.)

  • Time: Noon, Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.
  • Admission: $5, 12 years and younger free; $5 parking
  • Location: Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52, Dade City, FL

- Millers Bayou Fireworks Show: After taking a year off, Port Richey's Millers Bayou fireworks show is back! Coolers welcome. Parking is limited.

  • Time: 9 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE

- Tropical Fourth of July: Bring your blankets and chairs to the gardens for a tropical celebration with bayfront fireworks, live music, children's activities and food.

  • Time: 6-9 p.m.
  • Admission: $20, $17 members, 11 and younger free
  • Location: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 811 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota
- 10th Annual North Port Freedom Festival: Wear your red, white and blue, bring your blanket or folding chairs and be prepared for a fireworks display that will light up the sky.
  • Time: 6 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE
  • Location: North Port High School, 6400 West Price Blvd., North Port, FL

- Fourth of July Venice Fireworks Display: Special thanks go out to Sertoma Club of Venice for raising $10,000 for the display and everyone who contributed.

  • Time: 9 p.m.
  • Admission: FREE
  • Location: Fireworks will be shot from the South Jetty and will be visible from area beaches and other locations in the area.
