Clearwater, Florida - Officials with the US Coast Guard in Clearwater are reminding everyone who goes on the water to make sure they have a plan in place. This comes after two men were rescued Monday morning on a jet ski, after an overnight search.

Crews with the Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife and the Hernando County Sheriff's Office used boats and a chopper to search for the men, identified as Daladier Faust and Jacob Crooms.

They were found Monday morning  about four miles west of Hernando Beach. They were still on the jet ski and wearing life jackets. Faust and Crooms were then airlifted to the Coast Guard Air Station in Clearwater.

Coast Guard officials said they got the call about the overdue jet skiers at about 10:45 Sunday night. The two 22-year-olds had left a private dock near Pine Island at about 6 pm, and had not been heard from since. According to officials, a girlfriend of one of the men called authorities after not hearing anything from them for hours.

While the men did have safety vests, Coast Guard officials said they did not have other safety equipment, such as radios and flares.

Coming off what they call a busy rescue weekend and with summer in full swing, officers want to remind everyone to make sure others know where you're going, how you're getting there, and that you have all your safety gear.

"We do ask that when you're out there, to file your float plan, to wear your life jacket, to make sure you have some sort of communication in order to get in touch with someone," said Petty Officer First Class with the Coast Guard, Crystalynn Kneen.

According to the Coast Guard, the men were suffering from minor hypothermia. Other than that, they're said to be doing fine.
