Bradenton, Florida -- 13th Avenue Dream Center is making a significant difference by positively impacting the lives of many children.

"They have an opportunity to see that it can be done and no one has forgotten about them," says Assistant Dean David Muhammad.

The children here say if the Dream Center didn't have its doors open, they don't know where they would be.

"They keep me active in sports, they keep me active in doing my homework... like, whenever I'm having trouble, they stop me from causing trouble," says student T'aliyah Bell.

This program isn't only available Monday through Friday; it keeps the kids busy seven days a week, offering fun and educational activities on weekends too.  The facility is located in the heart of Bradenton, catering to underprivileged children. The non-profit organization partners with the YMCA to help impact the region.

"If this school wasn't here there would definitely be all kind of other avenues for trouble. We would be looking at a bunch of other arrests, a bunch of other, you know, other statistics that would be going up that's not necessary," says Muhammad.

16-year-old high school student Sinai Garcia says the program has helped her get a head in school and she now dreams of a better future.

"This is not the end, you can do more. They help you get jobs and they support you."
