Escort for fallen Dunedin soldier Zachary Shannon

Dunedin, Florida -- Fallen Army Spc. Zachary L. Shannon, who was killed in Kandahar, Afghanistan, is coming home.

Spc. Shannon, a graduate of Dunedin High School, was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.

His remains arrived at MacDill Air Force Base at 10:30 a.m. and the escort began around 11:15 a.m.

Shannon's body will be laid to rest at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens at 1750 Curlew Road in Palm Harbor.
